This interactive journal is designed to help parents, teachers and leaders guide children in learning how to spend time alone with Jesus.   Everything good comes out of our personal relationship with the Lord; our time spent alone developing that intimacy and history with Him.  We have the privilege of passing on this value to our children.  The chapters are written to the adult to help give direction as they guide their children in their alone time with Him.  The worksheets are for the children.  They are geared towards kindergarten to fifth grade, but any believer of any age that wants to develop a more intimate relationship with God and practice listening to Him would benefit just as much! Enjoy the adventure of your time spent with Jesus!

Bringing children into an intimate relationship with God is one the greatest things we as adults can do, and anything that helps us do that is valuable. “Time with Jesus” does more than help adults in this area, it empowers them to do so in such a way they are truly set up to succeed. That makes this book more than valuable, it is priceless.

From this book, both adults and children will learn to access God’s presence, His love, His voice, and so much more. I highly recommend what Shelly has done here in “Time with Jesus”.

When I was raising my children what I desired most for them was a life long relationship with Jesus. Shelly’s book Time with Jesus offers a simple yet fun way to help children build a personal relationship with Jesus. Parents and teachers will find this book to be a valuable resource in introducing children to more of the Living God.

Don Mayer, Principal, Bethel Christian School

This book is going to have an amazing impact for His Kingdom!  His love exudes out of it.  I have never seen anything like it.  There is a huge need for this book.

Amy Hawk, Author, Speaker, Mother

The worksheet time went really well.  The kids seemed to understand the directions easily and were able to jump right into their time with God.  It was simple, but took them deep, so the format is really effective.  Love it.  We would love to do more of them! What a gift!

You hear His voice.

Encouragement for those who wish to journey towards more intimacy with God and hearing Him speak. Short, hope-filled chapters are followed by three guided journal times that will activate you in the concepts just taught.

It is easy and right for an author to tell us that we need to “draw near to Jesus,” but there are very few that actually help lead us to Jesus.  Shelly McCandliss has put together a marvelous mixture of content and practice helping all who would seriously yearn to draw near to the Savior.  Come Young Life leader, come all, to feast on an intimate walk together with Jesus Christ.

Dan Jessup, Vice President -Young Life Latin America

Hearing His voice changes everything!  This simple reality unlocked my friendship with God.  It shifted how I love God, love others, myself.  Shelley, has written in such a way that will allow you to first believe that God speaks and then to cultivate the simple conversation with the God who loves you to experience life to the full.  Anyone desiring deeper intimacy with God and hungry to grow should take the time to read and utilize the exercises in this little gem to catalyze the lifelong adventure of Hearing God’s voice and courageously responding to His leading.

The Philippines during World War II held so many incredible stories of what men had to endure, from the Bataan Death March to the Great Raid. John F. Batcheler wrote a story of his own from his time as a prisoner of war in Camp 1, Cabanatuan. He survived almost three years contained there, fully mistreated, then liberated in one of the most successful rescue missions of all time.

This little book has two parts, John F. Batcheler’s account from his unique perspective, followed by a chance to look at answering the question, “What do we do with the hard things from our past?”
